Vaisakhi which is on 30th of March 1699 A.D is the memorable day where the big meeting was conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Sahib at the Kesgarh sahib near the Anandpur Sahib city. There were many Sikhs who attended may be in between fifty thousand(50,000) to eighty thousand(80,000) where the people expected the words of consolation and comfort from the Guru but they saw him with the sword drawn in the hand and cried that 'Is anyone here who would lay down his life for Dharam?', then with the third call of the Guru a young man offered himself and Guru took him inside the tent and came out with the sword which is bloodied and Guru called for the another person and the second, the third, the fourth and the fifth came forward and the Guru took all inside and came with the bloodied sword and the gatherings thought that the Guru has killed all the five men, But the Guru went inside and came with the five men with the saffron coloured garmets and the turbans.Hence these five men are called as the Panj Piara by the Guru and blessed the men with the Pahul ceremony.
